| I got my BA (major in history, minor in mathematics) from Columbia University in 1989. Kathleen and I were married in 1991. We moved around a lot as Kathy worked her way up the corporate ladder--various locations in Connecticut; southern California for four years; the United Kingdom for about the same amount of time; then back to Connecticut. In the meantime I managed to earn a master's degree in education, and I taught school in all these places; but I also played the house husband for stretches after the birth of each of our children. Collen William was born in Pasadena, California, in 1997; Clare Alice, in the village of Stony Stratford, England, in 2000. Our family has now settled in Madison, Connecticut, a shoreline town that we like very much. Kathy has her own business; she's a sales training consultant. I teach history at the local secondary school. We all enjoy romping in the snow in the winter and in the surf in the summer; we also fancy hiking, playing tennis, kicking around a soccer ball, beating each other at cards and other games, reading, and visiting zoos, aquariums, and art museums. | |
